Horse Holiday?

Maddy M asked:

Hi I am hoping to go on a riding holiday with two of my best friends, who also ride.

We arew hoping to go to Cullinghood Riding Stables which looks good for money and looks fun.

My mum thinks it is a good idea, but a little uncertain, so we have come up with an ideal solution.

Me and my friends go up there for a riding lesson and see if we would like to stay there, and our parents can see if they think it is accecptable

Do you think that my solution is good?

Would you go round it another way?

Have you ever been to Cullinghood? (It’s in the UK)

Would you like to give me your previopus horse riding holiday experinces? (It can be anywhere in the world)

Thank you! x

Colleen

Work experience in my gap year.suggestions?

ladyknightcasamawary asked:

I am in grade 12 this year and I am planning to have a year off (gap year) next year and gain as much horsey experience as possible. In that year I am hoping to save madly and earn money for my university course. (Bachelor of Equine Science)

What I was wondering is what would be the best way of getting a maximum amount of horse experience. I KNOW that kind of work is thankless usually and low-paid if paid at all. I just want to get varied experience. I am most definetly intending to continue my lessons at least twice a week, and am planning on buying a horse at the end of that year for uni.

I am most likely gong to get a job at my riding school, and have been offered volunteer work at a theraputic riding centre next year. I also currently work at a childrens horse riding camp on school holidays.

What are some other options/reccomendations so I can get some wide spread experience in horses? I am not expecting to get paid for any of it (except my job)

I really want a horse and to start horseback riding, but I have no idea where to start?

Chloe asked:

I’m thirteen years old.
There are stables in my area.
I wanted to adopt a horse.
What should I look for?
I have never horse back ridden before and I really don’t know where to start. Where should I start?
What would a general cost be, not including the actual horse?
I know the question isn’t really specific, but just provide me with any information you know. I’m totally clueless, but I’ve wanted to ride for a while now.

Thanks! and happy holidays

Allison

I went horse riding and it was the best time of my life?

Semmie asked:

Now I have to wait about 3 weeks or more to go again. It’s the holidays where I live and I can’t wait that long! I wake up every morning and I almost cry. I used to get by by saying, “It will come, I just have to wait.” But this has been the best thing EVER and my mum said ‘yes’ to lessons. I can’t wait that long. Is there anything I can do to keep my mind off it or make time go faster?

How to help at my local horse riding stables?

Horse crazy asked:

I have been going to the same horse riding school for 3.5 years and always end up helping out on the riding camps, looking after the horses and lil kids. The thing is I would like to help more often-the camps are in the holidays only-and maybe even get a job helping out. How do I approach this and convince the owner of my riding school? I would also like to mainly work with the horses. Thanks and Happy holidays.

Long riding ‘holiday’ or trek in Ireland?

LuvA asked:

When I graduate in December I am planning on going to Ireland for at least a month but preferably longer. I’ll be traveling alone. As a horse-crazy person, I’m considering riding holidays, treks, or possibly a working student position.

Any suggestions/websites? Thanks!

Ella

I have a horse who is obsessed with me?

Izzy.flower asked:

theres this cob X that is always escaping from his stall, no matter what we do. His name is pugsley and hes fat and on the small side! Just before at my horse riding school, i was helping out at school holiday events, he escaped in the morning, and came galloping right up to me! He has over 1 hundred people riding him each week. I was on the other side of thew school, and no-one could catch him, so I had to go get a lead rope and lead him back. Silly little fella, hes a small, brown, CHUBBY! pony!
okay sorry about that, the question is, is it okay for him to be constantly around me. He doesnt like my riding teacher, hes a naughty boy when some one tries to ride him or get him tacked up.
But hes a sweet heart to me and its easy to catch him
question is, is this normal?

How do you tip in Spain?

ShortStuff asked:

I have heard many different things on this topic, and it seems to vary depending on the situation (ie: taxi vs. food, and city vs. town). The big issue now is how we tip our guide for our horse riding holiday. I know you might not have experience in this exact area, but general guidelines are fine too. Thanks so much!

Fernando
